Waste Tire Haulers
Anyone transporting ten or more used or waste
tires must be a State-registered waste tire hauler.
|
Please do not give any number of waste tires to an unregistered hauler. Unregistered haulers are likely to dump your tires. You will be held responsible for any tires (or other garbage) found illegally dumped by your business.
Should your business register with the State as a "waste tire hauler?"
If you ever haul ten or more used or waste tires, you must register annually with the CIWMB. Registration costs around $200 (annual fee for bond). Registered waste tire haulers must keep a registration decal (see right) on the hauling vehicle's passenger-side windshield, and must have a registration certificate in the vehicle as well as a Trip Log and manifests when hauling tires.
If you have a one-time need to transport ten or more tires to a disposal facility, please contact the WTEP to arrange for a a one-day exemption.
